Dear colleagues,

It is my pleasure and that of the Organising Committee to welcome you to Madrid to attend the XVIIth Regional Congress of the International Society of Blood Transfusion Europe, to be held in Madrid in June 23-27, 2007.

Madrid is lively city with superb conference and hotel facilities that will provide you with a most pleasant stay. We hope it will be the perfect setting to meet with colleagues, learn about transfusion medicine, and have the chance to visit museums, historic places, and enjoy restaurants and nightlife.

The scientific programme that has been lined up by the Scientific Committee promises to be extremely attractive and will enable a state-of-theart update in the field of transfusion medicine presented by renowned experts. We have prepared an interesting educational programme, and a variety of symposiums including comprehensive reviews of significant areas as transfusion transmitted diseases, cellular therapies, cord blood bank, new technologies, legislation, etc...

The congress will be held at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos, a modern building conveniently linked with both the city centre and the airport.

Location
The congress will take place in The Palacio Municipal de Congresos, which is part of the urban complex, Campo de las Naciones. The centre is ideally located just fifteen minutes from the airport, as well as the city centre.
